President’s Letter – August 2026
August is Membership Month in Rotary International! 🌎💙
As we begin a new Rotary year, August gives us a wonderful opportunity to focus on one of the greatest strengths of Rotary—our members.
Rotary is more than a meeting we attend. It is a community of people who believe that service creates meaningful change, that relationships matter, and that together we can accomplish far more than we ever could alone.
This year, our goal at Preston Hollow Rotary is to grow our membership so that we can grow our service. Every new member brings new ideas, new connections, new talents, and new opportunities to make a difference in our community and around the world.
🌟 Three Magnificent Reasons to Be a Rotarian
1. Make a Greater Difference Through Service
When you become a Rotarian, you become part of a worldwide network committed to making communities stronger. Your time, talents, resources, and relationships can help us address real needs—locally and internationally.
The more members we have, the more service we can provide.
2. Build Meaningful Relationships
Rotary brings together people from different professions, backgrounds, and experiences who share a common desire to make a difference.
Friendships made through Rotary often become some of our most meaningful relationships. We learn from one another, encourage one another, and create partnerships that extend far beyond our weekly meetings.
3. Grow Personally and Professionally
Rotary provides opportunities to lead, serve, learn, mentor, collaborate, and connect. Whether you are a longtime community leader, a young professional, a business owner, an educator, a nonprofit leader, or someone simply looking for a way to give back, there is a place for you in Rotary.
Membership isn’t simply about what you can give to Rotary—it’s also about what Rotary can help you become.

💫 A Word from Paul Harris
“Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves.”
— Paul Harris, Founder of Rotary
Those words are a wonderful reminder that our greatest measure is not simply what we talk about, but what we accomplish together through service.
With gratitude and excitement,
